Pastor

Rev. Dr. Robert Smitley is serving Greenmont-Oak Park Community church as Interim Pastor, since October 2011.  He and his wife, Sue, have three grown daughters, two son-in-laws and four grandchildren.  Rev. Dr. R Smitley has celebrated his 28th year of ordination with the United Church of Christ. He also brings a history of 30 years of Fire Chaplaincy services, in the states of Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Illinois, in which he earned several awards and citations for his efforts.  Rev. Dr. Robert Smitley also served churches in Downers Grove, IL, Cincinnati, OH, College Hill and Baseline UCC in northern OH,  and Ebensburgh, PA.  Rev. Dr. Smitley also holds his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology, obtained from Emmanuel Bapstist University.  He has opportunities to offer his services of spiritual leadership, counseling, comfort, teaching, and ministering through caring friendship to the church members and the community.

Office Administrator

Nova Kigar has served Greenmont-Oak Park Community Church for 12 years.  Nova is originally from Gibsonburg, Ohio and came to the Dayton area to attend Wright State University.  She obtained a BS in Medical Technology and worked in the field for 15 years.  She and her husband, Craig, have been active members of GOPCC for 28 years.  They have one daughter.

Along with her duties as Office Administrator, she serves the community as a member of the Mission Outreach Committee’s Neighbor to Neighbor Food Panty Program.
